…a very long while indeed since I’ve practiced my life drawing skills. Somewhere in the region of ten years perhaps? Yikes! However, I’m determined to get myself back into art practice mode and what better way to accomplish this than to throw myself into the deep end!
Luckily for me, there’s a brand spanking new gallery/studio/cafe not too far from where I live that runs a series of life drawing classes – Fire Station Creative. A two hour life drawing class every week seemed a very petrifying reality only the other week. Needless to say, I was more than a little tense, which of course came through in the drawings! However, the drawing itself became very theraputic in a way and by the following week I felt as though I was beginning to find my feet again.
I’m now really looking forward to my next few classes. The classes themselves provide the opportunity for a variety of learners at all ages and stages (including veterans such as myself!) to develop their skill in an informal environment. With a bit of luck, I’ll get my skills sharpened up in no time!
